Back on the grind

Greetings sports fans…I had to make some adjustments to my blog that got put on the back burner of my priority list.

But by popular demand I am going keep the blog rolling.

Well, it is September and you know what that means…Fall League.  It is no secret how I feel about Fall League…I think that is a great way for varsity players to get back in condition and very the freshies to get their feet wet. But somewhere along the line something went wrong…parents, fan club mobs etc began to take it seriously, like it was the regular season. Bad enough you have the “daddy-coach” running the show on the sidelines but some of the parents are completely out of control.  I witnessed some awful parental behavior at the Vogue’s Fall League at Fairfax HS this Saturday, luckily a mother with some sense cracked the other parents head and let it be know that their sideline tirades were out of line.

I will be paying visits to a few leagues in the region to check out players, I really do not do much critical analysis on players..it is more like taking inventory.

Rod Hairston’s RHP Sports and Billy Gibson’s West Springfield Leagues are well run, by well respected coaches are definitely on my schedule. I am also going check some action down 81 in the Spotswood League…if I ever get a schedule.  I am heading down to Roanoke this Saturday to an ‘open gym’ to check out some players from Southern and Central VA..many play for small schools but they deserve some love too!!
