LBoogie's The Real 411

Well sports fans it is that time of the year again, the beginning of the high school basketball season.  Part of my challenge is to try to make as many games as possible without slighting anyone.

Tonight’s game choice was easy even though St. Frances plays Holy Cross, I am opting for Bullis vs. Good Counsel and the reason is very personal.  Two of my original ‘babies’ are playing against each other So.Faith Randolph for CG and So. Taylor Jenkins for Bullis.  Both played for me on the Germantown Lady Panthers when they first started their basketball careers in the 3rd/4th grade,  I was their first coach and that team was so special to me.  Other players on the team were Jr. Kenia Cole(Paint Branch), Jr. Jasmine McRoy(Watkins Mill), So, Sasha Orr(Seneca Valley), So. Brielle Knowlton(Covenant Life),  all who are doing very well at their respective schools.  I am so proud of all my former players, Faith and Taylor have grown up before my eyes, not only are they great basketball players and honor students they are quality young women from great families and I am proud to have been part of their development on and off the court.

Other games I am attending:

Fri: North Point vs Lackey…the Butler sister act takes the main stage in the SMAC.

Sat: Harrisonburg vs Millbrook..Millbrook is young and should be back at VCU next March.
